Your customer doesn’t care about your GEO strategy. They’re cold.

Your customer doesn’t care about your GEO strategy. They’re cold.

Your customer is not thinking about GEO. They are trying to solve a problem. Before chasing new search acronyms, begin with the questions they are actually asking.

There is a great deal of advice flying around about modern search.

SEO. AEO. GEO. AI visibility. Entities. Authority. Citations. Structured data.

Apparently, businesses now need to be everywhere, optimise everything and master an alphabet that seems to acquire a new letter every fortnight.

Meanwhile, your customer’s heat pump has stopped working.

They are sitting at home thinking:

  • What will suit my home?
  • Who can supply and install it?
  • Which brands and installers can I trust?
  • What will the whole process involve?
  • Where on earth do I start?

They may ask Google. They may ask AI. They may check Maps and reviews, visit websites, ask friends or post in a community group.

But they are not thinking about search strategy.

They are trying to solve a problem.

And that is where businesses need to begin too.
